Are the PDF tools really free?+
Yes. The PDF tools in this version are available without payment or an account.
How do I edit existing text in a PDF?+
Open the Free PDF Editor, upload a text-based PDF, click a text span, change it in the inspector, and export the updated PDF.
Can I keep the same PDF font when editing text?+
The editor tries to reuse the PDF’s original font or a matching font installed on the server. Some embedded subsets cannot encode new characters, so the original TTF or OTF may be required.
Can I edit scanned PDF text?+
OCR PDF can make scans searchable, but it does not replace the scanned pixels. Actual text editing still requires an original text layer or image editing.
Is my PDF stored permanently?+
PDF editing sessions are held temporarily in memory. Most tools process files in memory; Word-to-PDF can use short-lived temporary files that are deleted after conversion. A hosted site receives documents on its server.
